I Do Not Consent: Realigning Power to Serve People Over Profit

By Vincent Cordova · November 22, 2025

I do not consent to a system where human life is filtered through profit-and-loss logic controlled by extractive institutions.

A corporate-controlled governance model that denies care and normalizes preventable suffering is not governance. It is managed harm.

Corporations that exist through public charters, public infrastructure, and public stability cannot demand public privileges without public obligations.

No government would be allowed to deny fundamental rights based on a medical condition, yet we allow private entities to make life-or-death decisions under that exact logic.

This is a deep corruption of moral authority under a monetary system that the public is required to use and therefore has a right to shape toward the public good.

The point is not rhetorical. Power must be realigned to the people. Consent is the source of legitimacy, and people are increasingly withdrawing consent from systems that commodify dignity.

We must reject frameworks designed for exclusion and extraction and replace them with systems that uphold shared life, shared care, and shared accountability.

The Demand is Simple and Non-Negotiable

  • If the government is forbidden from denying life-saving care due to a pre-existing condition, every private insurer operating under public law must be held to the same standard.
  • If the government is expected to act in the public trust, then corporations benefiting from public systems must do so as well.
  • If cruel and unusual punishment is forbidden to government, then routine denial of care for profit should be forbidden to corporations.
