As I am writing this at the Elko County Library, As I walk in I was scrutinized like I didn't belong in here. I had my service Dog, a backpack, and two bags. Immediately I was asked if my Dog was a service animal, as she is a registered ADA Service Animal. The next was that I had to leave my bags at the door. I have a rolling cart with my computer equipment and my Dog bag.
I was told that Elko County Library's Policy does not allow bags in the Library. I ask, why are you worried about someone stilling books when you have a alarm system at the door. She said its our policy. I ask who made that policy.
So I am classified as a possible thief because of bags? So my bags are outside the second doors with the possibility of someone taking them.
The real problem here is that I identified as a homeless person with bags. Elko businesses and county offices are not homeless friendly.
As It was easy to identify, I went on Elko's County website to review the policy about bags. NOTHING THERE ABOUT BAGS and that does not meant their entire policy was on the website, but it should be. Vinnie's Docs , will show you their online Policy.
I asked to see the policy and I was told that I will be asked to leave if I cause a problem.
I feel like I am not a citizen treated with respect by Most Government Businesses.
How do you feel about the way you are treated by Government Offices?
THE MORAL OF THE STORY, YOU NEED TO TREAT ALL PEOPLE WITH RESPECT. ESPECIALLY WHEN TAX PAYER'S ARE OVER WORKED, AND AT TIMES UNDERPAID TO KEEP YOU IN YOUR POSITION, AND NOT TO BE TREATED LESS
